Why? Tell me, my friend, why in the world should you be kind-hearted, be so-called ren? Heaven and earth is not ren—it treats men and treats animals as the same; the so-called great men were not ren—they treated men as treated animals.

Is it possible that this world we live in is like some kind of a bellows: if you keep your heart empty, you're not deformed, but the more you work and make, the more of it comes out of yourself.

More gain, more poorness; more words, more confusion. Better just stay in the very middle of your heart.

為什么，告訴我吧，我的朋友，到底為了什么你應該“仁”？天地不仁，它對待人跟對待動(dòng)物一樣；圣人不仁，他們對待動(dòng)物一樣地對待著(zhù)老百姓。到底為了什么，你就應該仁呢？

有沒(méi)有可能，這個(gè)世界的本原是一個(gè)像風(fēng)箱一樣的東西呢？當你的心在保持虛靜的時(shí)候，你自在而自足，你越動(dòng)騰越努力，你就越是喪失了自己，迷失了自我呢？

愈得，愈失；愈求，愈窮；越解釋就越抹黑，不如干脆宅守在自己的心里。

天 地 不 仁 ， 以 萬(wàn) 物 為 芻 狗 ﹔

圣 人 不 仁 ， 以 百 姓 為 芻 狗 。

天 地 之 間 ， 其 猶 橐 龠 乎 。

虛 而 不 屈 ， 動(dòng) 而 愈 出 。

多 言 數 窮 ， 不 如 守 中 。
